The History of the Corvoclaws, Part 1

Corvoclaw history

    It was about four-hundred years ago, when the one of the more powerful unicorn families in Canterlot, Equestia had their foals. They were the Shimmerlot family, and the day was unique as all three sons of the Shimmerlots was expecting their first foals. The Oldest son, Zeusius Shimmerlot, was a gold-colored colt with a golden mane. The next oldest is Sunrise Shimmerlot, and he was a bit more orange in color, with black mane. The youngest son, is named Moondust Shimmerlot, and he was a dark-purple with a silver-colored mane.

    Before long, Zeusius' foal was born. A mighty strong-looking colt unicorn. He was named Celescules, as in honor of Celestia, whom will be training the three. The next one born was Sunrise's foal, and it was a filly unicorn. She was uniquely pure black, with gold-and-crimson colored mane. They named her Scorcha Jinjing Shimmerlot, after her mother's mother.  The last one born was a colt for Moondust. His coat was silver while his mane was purple-and-rose-striped. He was named Starlight Sparkle Shimmerlot.

    After many years, it was the foals first day at Elementary School in Canterlot. As the only filly-foal of the famous Shimmerlots, Scorcha got a lot of attention. Her famous trait, blowing stuff up, by accident. Celescules is able to move stuff that are fifteen times heavier than he is, while Starlight is able to use a wide-array of magical specialities. Year after year, Scorcha's parents talks with the teachers about how they can help her, but in the end, no avail. Nearly everytime, they ended up yelling about whose fault it was for Scorcha's failure. When she was about thirteen, out of hatred for her parents blaming her for not learning correctly and a useless unicorn, she ran away. The following day, instead of reporting her missing, they went to the town clerk to have her removed from their family, so she can't claim anything that bears the Shimmerlot name as her own.

    "It is not my fault that I can't use any magic that I'm taught." Scorcha I said out loud nearby a patch of woods.

    "I totally agree, my dear." Said a feminine voice.

    "Who's there?" Scorcha demanded.

    A tall, regal-like creature came out of the shadows. It looked like an Alicorn, but wasn't an Alicorn. It was a Changeling.

    "I'm Hivera, Queen of the Tealhive, a Changeling hive." Hivera smiled, with a bow, "And you are?"

    "I'm Scorcha Jinjing Shimmerlot the First! Daughter of Sunrise Shimmerlot!" Scorcha proudly proclaim.

    "Was. You were the daughter of Sunrise Shimmerlot. I was disguised when I learned it. I know you have potential, my dear." Hivera smiled, "And I can help you to your way to Greatness."

    Scorcha thought about it, and despite what she was told, she smiled at the Changeling Queen, "Will I become a Changeling?"

    Hivera looked a bit surprised, "You wished to become a Changeling? First time I ever heard of a Pony wanting to become a Changeling. If that is what you so desired, then it will be done."

    "Thank you, Hivera." Scorcha smiled, as she followed Hivera to her hive.

    Hivera created a teal-green cocoon, which Scorcha voluntary walked into the cocoon, and begin her transformation into a Changeling. First to change was her horn became curved. Soon her body became more insect-like, with an exoskeleton. She soon sproated insect wings. The moment the transformation was complete, her mane and tail remained the same.

    Scorcha walked out of the cocoon, opens her eyes, to reveal that her eyes are the same as Hivera's, then bowed at Hivera's hooves, "Thank you, My Queen. After I punish my parents, I'll serve your command without question. "

    Hivera nodded, and Scorcha took off on her new wings, as if she been flying her whole life. She arrived back before her parents returned back from a socialite dinner.  She hid herself within the shadows for them. When they came through the door, she start using her magic on her surroundings. She somehow able to make it seem like nothing was going on, from the outside looking in, while scaring her former parents within the household.

    All the while, she was laughing, gleefully and evilfully, "That's right! FEEL THE FEAR! FEEL IT! FEAR IT! FEAR ME!"

    Then through her newly-made connection with the Hivemind, she heard Hivera spoke to her, "Scorcha, I order you to come back to the hive."

    Scorcha smiled, "Yes, My Queen. I'll do as I am told.", then she flew back to the hive.

    Once she arrived, she walked up to Hivera and bowed. Hivera placed her horn on each of Scorcha's shoulders.

    "From this day forth, your clan, the Corvoclaw, will be my Fear-Magic Division." Hivera smiled, "Now rise, Fear-Magic Changeling Scorcha Jinjing Corvoclaw the First of the Tealhive!"

    Scorcha stood back up and faced the crowd, whom cheered for their new addition of the Hive.

    HIvera leaned down and whisper, "Welcome to your new home, Scorcha."

    "Thank you, My Queen." Scorcha smiled back.

    Generations down the line, the oldest Brother's branch eventually dropped the antique-souding "-lot" suffix. Eventually ending with a few other mares and colts, one was Celestia's student, Sunset Shimmer. The Baby Brother's Branch, starting with Starlight himself, dropped the entire last name of Shimmerlot, and used his own middle name of Sparkle, as his last name. His decendents soon, also became Celestia's student, Twilight Sparkle. As for Scorcha Corvoclaw's decendents? That will be in the next chapter, fellow readers.
